My approach centers on building authentic and warm relationships with my clients s that we can work together to navigate life’s challenges in ways that work for you. I believe this happens best within the context of a safe and validating relationship where curiosity about one’s authentic self is valued and embraced. I use mindfulness, exposure, and acceptance-based strategies to help people move from chronic distress to values-based living and meaningful relationships with one’s self, others, and the world.
Clinical background and experience
Prior to Pathways to Peace, I worked at a private practice in the DMV area providing adherent, comprehensive standard DBT in both the individual role and the skills group leader role. Throughout that time, I was extensively trained in DBT and completed multiple advanced topic trainings with expert trainers. I was then introduced to Contextually-Focused DBT, which was developed by Paul Holmes, PsyD and integrates the processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) within the framework of DBT.
I completed the Contextually-Focused DBT Fellowship at The University of Chicago's Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice in the academic year of 2022-2023. I now receive direct mentorship from Paul Holmes three times weekly in a seminar, a C-DBT consultation group, and one-on-one supervision.
I am available for telehealth appointments for those located in Maryland or Washington, D.C. If you are interested in my services, you can schedule a free 15 minute consultation call, which can help you decide if you would like to proceed with an intake appointment.
